I was also taking glucosamine on a daily basis. Having been told about emu oil, I had decided to give it a try..........after all, it's a natural product, so no harm could be done right? My only complaint about all this is, WHY WASN'T I TOLD ABOUT EMU OIL EARLIER !!!!!!!!!!!!! Once I started taking Emu Spirit Emu Oil on a daily basis, I haven't had to take the pain killers at all for my osteoarthritis. It seemed like the effects were immediate, but I know it wasn't, oh what a relief. I have now been taking Emu Spirit Emu Oil Capsules for about 9 years and will continue to do so.

I have told all and sundry about the benefits of this amazing product and my mother has been rubbing the emu oil directly on her bunions, after about 4 months, she doesn't have any trouble with them anymore, in fact the bunions have almost disappeared.

I send the Emu Oil Soap to relatives in Germany, one of whom has psoriasis, they just love the soap and use it constantly, finding it helps the psorirasis immensely.

I can't sing the praises of Emu Spirit Emu Oil loud enough, not only is the product fabulous, the Management and staff are oh so helpful also. It's a pleasure dealing with them.

Fil Pulterman,

Victoria

Exceptional result-Actual result may vary. Emu Spirit’s emu oil is has been scientifically recognised for its anti-inflammatory properties and can be used both topically and internally (orally) to treat a range of aches and pains such as arthritis, osteo-arthritis, rheumatism, sore joints, muscle aches and sporting injuries.
There are many pain relief products out there but we believe that Emu oil is simply and naturally the ‘go to’ anti-inflammatory that actually works. Many pain killers simply block ‘pain signals’ from the brain to the source of pain, meaning that although you may experience temporary pain relief, your pain isn’t actually going away. For many people this often means having to put up with ongoing pain and medications for months or even years.
Emu Spirit’s Oil of Emu is a versatile anti-inflammatory that penetrates the skin quickly because it has a composition similar to hydrolipidic film of sound skin (health skin). Treating muscle aches and pains with Emu Oil allows the oil’s anti-inflammatory properties to ease sore muscles and joints, especially those attributed to sports injuries.
Oil of Emu works by deeply penetrating all layers of the skin and relieving the actual source of pain and discomfort by reducing inflammation.
How to use Oil of Emu
When applied topically Emu Spirit Oil of emu may bring rapid temporary relief from the pain and discomfort associated with inflammation based conditions such as arthritis, arthritic and muscular aches and pains and RSI. Taken internally (orally) Oil of Emu helps provide relief from your aches and pains by working from the inside out.

Don’t just take our word for it – read how others have used Emu Spirit to help reduce and relieve muscular aches and pains others, including AFL teams West Coast Eagles and Sydney Swans. READ TESTIMONIALS

visit us at www.emuspirit.com
www.emuspirit.com

What is Emu Oil and How Do You Use It?

What is Emu Oil and how do you use it?

Emu Oil has been used by Australian Aboriginals for thousands of years for its anti-inflammatory and rejuvenating powers. As a natural anti-inflammatory, Emu Spirit Oil of Emu comes from the layer of fat that exists between the muscle groups and skin of both male and female Emu’s. This raw product is then rendered to become Emu oil.

Emu Spirit’s Oil of Emu range can be used both topically and internally (orally) to treat a wide range of conditions such as:

Arthritis

Psoriasis

Rheumatism

Muscle aches and Pains

Eczema

PMS

Burns

Blisters

Bruises

Cuts

Sunburn

Nappy Rash

Emu Spirit’s Oil of Emu products such as Oil of Emu and Oil of Emu Capsules, also provide an excellent additional source of Omega Fatty Acids 3, 6 & 9.

Emu Spirit Emu oil, which we market as Oil of Emu, is the result of 15 years of research into all aspects of Emu Oil production. In 2002, we were the first to successfully list Emu Oil on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as an active ingredient for the treatment of a range of inflammatory conditions. As part of the process to have Emu Oil added to the ATG as an active ingredient, Emu Spirit had to commission full Oral Toxic Testing (Pharmatox T2334) on Emu Oil. This was the first time that such testing had been carried out and Emu Oil anywhere in the world.

Emu Spirit is committed to continued research and development and recently supported the Victoria University with a double blind, placebo controlled clinical trial for ‘Osteoarthritis of the hands’.

At the end of an eight week study, pain scores were statistically and significantly lower in the Emu Spirit oil users, compared with the placebo oil users. The abstract of the clinical trial results were published in the ‘Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases’ (Vol 64, pg 484, SAT0238).

"Emu Spirit...as a massage oil...is easy to use and quickly penetrates the [players] skins, therefore making at invaluable in the treatment of injuries. For those of you who haven't quite had enough of all things royal, we saw this pattern on the Guardian's website. Hold onto your needles, ladies and gents, you too can knit your own Corgi!

Royal wedding: Knit your own corgi

The Queen has loved corgis since receiving one for her 18th birthday. They'll surely be putting in an appearance at the wedding of the year – but can you emulate this famously hardworking breed and produce a knitted version to match?

Extracted from Fiona Goble's Knit Your Own Royal Wedding (£9.99 – or £7.99 at the Guardian bookshop)

The Queen has owned Pembroke Welsh corgis since she was given her first pet, named Susan, for her eighteenth birthday in 1944. The breed is well known for being hardworking – though if the truth be told, the Queen's own corgis have not had to work that hard. They live in wicker baskets in a box room in the palace and are fed from silver bowls. They are used to journeys in chauffeur-driven limousines and private planes.
You will need

For the dog
10g (1/4oz) or approx 10m/11yds of ochre DK yarn
Small amount of cream DK yarn
Very small amounts of black and purple DK yarn
A small star-shaped purple button for the collar
5g (1/8oz) polyester toy-stuffing

Use size 3mm (US 2 or 3) knitting needles throughout unless stated otherwise, and a size 3.25mm (US D-3) crochet hook.
Pattern
Body and head

Side 1:
• Cast on 15 sts in ochre.
• Next row: K2, inc1, K6 then turn, leaving rem sts on needle.
• Work on 10 sts just knitted only.
• Next row: P to end.
• Next row: K2, m1, K8 then turn, leaving rem sts on needle.
• Work on 11 sts just knitted only.
• Next row: P.
• Next row: K2, m1, K to end (across all sts on needle). Stuff the dog and close the gap. Seam and stuff the legs and oversew them in position. Oversew the ears in position. Oversew the bib to the front of the dog.

Using black yarn, work a small circle of chain stitch for the nose and two French knots for the eyes. To stop the French knots disappearing or looking uneven, you may want to work a ring of small chain stitches round the eyes using ochre yarn.

Work a row of cream chain stitch round the nose, then down to the top of the bib. Work a row of chain stitch from the top of the nose up the centre of the face and half way back down the face. Separate a short length of black yarn lengthwise so you have two thinner lengths of yarn. Use one of these to make a single straight stitch for the mouth.

Place the collar round the dog's neck and join the two short ends. Stitch the star button in place.

• Knit Your Own Royal Wedding is published by Ivy Press, £9.99,
ISBN: 978-1-907332-79-1. And as I discovered, he can also help you overcome your fear of pain. Sort of.

Gary Miritis’ name is known around sporting circles as the person you see when you have Osteitis Pubis – a painful inflammatory condition of the pubic symphysis (the joint between the right and left pubic bones of the pelvis). Although Gary treats all injuries, Osteitis Pubis is the biggest injury his clinic treats.

I visited Gary, not because of Osteitis Pubis, but because I get migraines from time to time. When I made my appointment I was told that my remedial massage ‘may hurt a bit.’ Needless to say I felt slightly nervous! I’d heard stories from people leaving some massage therapists’ tables only to feel worse than what they did before they went in. I thought about cancelling my appointment but felt the tell tale sign of a migraine coming on and tried to put my fears aside.

A few days later I found myself in the waiting room of Gary’s Mount Waverly clinic surrounded by autographs from elite sporting clients he has helped recover from injury over the years. Suddenly I wasn’t so nervous.

Gary has been a massage therapist for 30 years specialising in Deep Tissue Massage – his clinic, Miritis Massage, performs 3 types of massage: remedial, sports, and relaxation.

Together with fellow Massage Therapists Darren Fulton and Adam Scammell, Mirits Massage treats many elite sports people including Cathy Freeman, Craig Mottram, Harry Kewell, Sonia O’Sullivan, Donovan Bailey, Chris Judd, Luke Hodge, and Anthony Koutoufidies (to name a few) as clients past and present. Added to this impressive list is the experience Mirits Massage has had from representing Australia at 3 Olympic Game, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and many other International and National Sporting events.

Soon I was laying face first on the massage table nothing to worry about I told myself people do this every day and have far worst injuries. Gary started the massage. I’d be lying if I said the first minute wasn’t painful. I had to remind myself that the end results of the massage was going to be worth it.

‘Will the pain last long?’ I asked him.

‘Actually, once your muscles loosen up it’ll probably hurt less.’

I willed my muscles to let go and accept the ‘torture’. During the half hour session I asked Gary the benefits of massage. ‘Well, the goal of the therapists is to fix your injury in the shortest possible time with a minimum number of visits. You may be a little sore after your massage, but your muscles and joints should feel relaxed and free.’

‘I’ve heard people say they feel like they are bruised after a session.’

‘It’s normal for some people to experience a bit of a "bruised" feeling for a few days after a remedial massage. But most of the time the majority of people feel a definite improvement in their soft tissue injury when they get off the table.’

I was hoping I’d be one of those people.

I decided to keep talking to him so I had something other than pain to concentrate on. ‘What has been some of your career highlights?’

‘Well, being Cathy Freeman’s personal masseur for her entire career is up there. I also got to represent Australia at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and the World Championships – that’s been amazing too. But I also get to meet many people, all types of people.’

‘This might be a silly question but does it ever hurt massaging people day in day out?’

‘Well, I have arthritis in my hands.’

I guess that answered my question.

‘But it is helped by massaging in one way because we use Emu oil for all of our treatments. I guess you could say it’s a positive side effect. I also use the capsules to help my condition and that’s been a huge relief.’’

I knew Gary used Emu oil for remedial massages but I didn’t know it was used for everything. ‘We’ve been using Emu Spirit Oil of Emu exclusively since 1995 for everything and everyone. It really helps the massage, particularly because it penetrates right through the skin.’

In between me telling Gary ‘You know, this doesn’t actually feel too bad’ and ‘On second thoughts I take that back,’ I asked Gary to explain why he had continued to use Emu oil. ‘Without a shadow of a doubt, in my opinion, it’s the best oil in the world. What makes it unique is the texture, the purity and of course it’s a natural anti-inflammatory substance.’

‘In treating most injuries, the major contributor is inflammation. We knew Emu Spirit had been proven through the TGA, so the anti-inflammatory properties of Emu Spirit’s Emu oil [gives us] a big plus.’ Gary adds that ‘one of the biggest advantages of using Emu oil compared to other types of massage oil is reduced recovery times for injuries and the low irritation factor on the skin.’

Well, all I knew was that my muscles were beginning to become irritated with me. At this point I would have preferred to run 10km than feel my muscles become loose. Before I knew it Gary told me ‘That’s it, all done.’

That’s it? It felt like it was over too soon. Which was weird, considering how many times I had wished the session would end. I walked out of the treatment room and rolled my neck around a few times. My muscles actually felt better than when I first walked in. For all my complaining, the massage didn’t feel anywhere near as bad as I thought it would. I thought about it a bit longer – it didn’t hurt as much as I perceived it to have done.

Gary smiled at me. ‘The next time you have one, it probably won’t hurt anywhere near as much.’

Next time? Would I dare?

‘Ok. See you then.’

I’ve now seen Gary a few more times since this visit and I am happy to say that a) remedial massages no longer hurt b) my migraines are practically gone. And no, I didn’t experience the feared bruising people had warned me about. I actually had one of the best nights’ sleep I had had in a long time.

If you’ve been contemplating massage to treat an injury or any other complaints I recommend you have one as soon as you can. As Gary told me ‘In the long run, the best thing to do is to consider massage as a preventative measure rather than wait until you’re injured. Think of your body as a car: you service your car every so many kilometers, you don’t wait till the lights come on the dashboard. Do the same with your body.’

Further Information:

Remedial massage is used to treat:

* Headaches/migraines
* Neck and shoulder pain
* Tennis & Golfers' elbow
* Scoliosis, Sciatica & other back pain
* ITB complaints
* Knee pain
* Shin splints/Achilles tendonitis
* Foot pain/sprained ankles
* Various other injuries

Virtually all injuries involving muscles, ligaments or tendons, including sprains and strains can greatly benefit by massage.

Miritis Massage: www.miritismassage.com/
www.emuspirit.com

Sports Injuries Are Given The Emu Oil Treatment

Whether you are a professional athlete, a weekend warrior, a regular exercise junky or a lounge room wrestler, sports injuries are probably something you’re familiar with.

Emu Spirit’s Oil of Emu is a great way to relieve sporting injuries – swollen ankles, bruises, sore and stiff muscles, or regular aches and pains, can all be treated so you can get on with life. The secret lies in Emu oil’s unique anti-inflammatory properties.

Many athletes use our products including professional sports therapists. We also supply Oil of Emu and Arthritic and Muscular Rub to AFL teams including Sydney Swans and West Coast Eagles.

The most substantial attribute that athletes, therapists, and trainers notice with Emu oil is that it greatly reduces swelling, inflammation, and bruising quickly. Not only are recovery times improved, Emu oil is able to be used on broken skin, particularly open wounds and sensitive skin areas. This is achieved because Emu Oil is trans-dermal and has a composition similar to the hydrolipidic film of sound, human skin, allowing Emu oil to quickly penetrate all layers of the epidermis. But don’t just take our word for it!

Head trainer of the West Coast Eagles noted that:

‘Because of the unique anti-inflammatory properties of [Emu] oil, we use it to reduce bruising, swelling, and inflammation. Following injury, massage may be necessary twice a day. Some oils cause a rash or inflammation in their hair follicles, but this problem has not been evident with the use of Emu oil.

‘Emu oil [also] penetrates really well and it significantly relives stiffness and soreness in muscles and joints.’

Read some of our other professional testimonials. to see how Emu Spirit Oil of Emu works for the treatment of sports injuries.

Emu Spirit Oil of Emu is approved by ASADA (Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority) as a safe and acceptable supplement for competing athletes and adheres to their anti-doping classifications.

A popular product amongst users to treat their sports injuries is the Arthritic and Muscular Rub. The warmth generated from the blend of Emu oil and essential oils of eucalyptus, wintergreen and peppermint, eases the muscle area and helps with mobility. Of course you can also use Oil of Emu and Oil of Emu capsules, especially if you have sensitive skin or skin that often experiences ingrown hair.

So the next time you feel a twinge or a strain, don’t let it get the better of you.

For more information on Emu oil and pain relief visit www.emuspirit.com
www.emuspirit.com

Oil of Emu users tell their story: Mild Arthritis and Osteoarthritis sufferer

Suffering from arthritis and osteoarthritis can be a painful and often frustrating journey, particularly when arthritis sufferers are searching for pain relief that is not only effective, but won't cost them the earth (or their health!)

We often talk about the benefits of emu oil in treating inflammation symptoms, especially for sufferers of arthritis and osteoarthritis, however it's rewarding to hear from Emu Spirit customers who have switched to our natural anti-inflammatory product and experienced positive results.
If you've been thinking about trying Emu oil to treat your arthritis and osteoarthritis, read Roberta's testimonial: her experience may be the catalyst for your own health success.

Here's Roberta's experience:

I became a loyal customer of Emu Spirit products after Emu oil capsules were recommended by a dental surgeon here in Portland. He had a back injury that left him depending on pain pills. He was not interested in a future of relying on pain killing drugs. So, he did his research, here in the U.S and in Australia looking for an alternative treatment. He found Emu Spirit and Emu oil capsules. He found them very effective. When he heard my complaints, he gave me a generous supply of his capsules to try.

I started taking 6 Emu oil Capsules 3 times a day. I gradually lowered the amount to 4 capsules 2 times a day. If I’m having a bad day, I can also safely increase the amount.

I have mild Arthritis, Osteoarthritis , and the lingering discomfort from a broken hip. My hip surgeon tells me I have no cartilage in my knee joints. Applying the Emu Spirit Arthritic and Muscular Rub to the knees and leg muscles has made a world of difference. I am also applying the Emu oil rub on my hands. They have symptoms of arthritis and carpal tunnel.

I even massage the Arthritic and Muscular Rub into my feet which seems to have some neuropathy. Cold rub right from the refrigerator wakes them up.

I think there is a good future for Emu oil products. Even my doctor’s nurse’s mother uses the oil.

Thanks for all your help,

Roberta

Portland, OR

Visit our website www.emuspirit.com to read more testimonials and information about our Oil of Emu Emu oil
www.emuspirit.com

Emu Oil and Caesarean Section Scars

A new study suggests that women who deliver by cesarean section seem to have similar cosmetic results whether the wound is closed with stitches or staples. However, applying Emu oil to your C-Section scars can also help minimise their appearance, often preventing scarring.

The study into C-Section wounds, conducted by the University if Insubria (Italy) randomly assigned 180 women undergoing a C-Section to have one of four methods of wound closure: staples or one of three types of sutures, including absorbable stitches and removable stitches.

After two and six months, the study found there were no overall differences among the groups' cosmetic results -- based on both an independent plastic surgeon's ratings and the women's own perceptions of their scar healing.

The findings suggest that, generally speaking, women who have a C- section can expect to get similar aesthetic results regardless of the type of wound closure according to lead researcher Dr. Antonella Cromi.

However results varied from patient to patient and were dependant on factors other than the use of staples or stitches."The final appearance and function of the healed skin is dependent on patient factors which are often outside the control of a surgeon," Cromi said.

Women with darker skin, for example, are more likely than light- skinned women to form keloids -- an area of raised, sometimes itchy or painful, scar tissue. In addition, smokers and women with certain medical conditions -- such as diabetes or any condition that requires use of certain kinds of steroids -- can have poorer scar healing than other women, Cromi noted.

In this study, the majority of women in all four groups had developed "mature" C-section scars six months after delivery. That meant that the scar was light-colored and flat to the skin.

A similar percentage of women in each group had a more visible scar, with a line of red, raised skin that was confined to the site of the surgical incision. That included 39 percent of women who received staples, and between 34 percent and 44 percent of women who received the different types of suture.

So while wounds eventually healed overtime, the appearance of the scar, regardless of wound closure method, differed from each woman caused by ‘outside influences.’

Given this, is there a way to actually prevent scarring in the first place or even speed the healing process?

For many women, it’s not so much the appearance of their beautiful ‘battle scar’ that concerns them, but rather the discomfort that often comes with scarring, particularly keloid scarring. Regularly applying Emu oil to your scars, especially after surgery assists not only wound healing but the appearance of scars, reducing redness and itching. Keloid scars in particular are assisted by the restorative properties of Emu oil because it is in anti-inflammatory which improves skin elasticity and generates skin cell renewal. Treating your C-Section wound as soon as possible lessens the impact of scarring to the point where scarring may not occur at all. However, Emu oil can be applied to scars at any stage regardless of their age, and it will still reduce the appearance of your scars, softening them overtime. In 1998, a double blind study conducted by the Harner Burn Center (1998) reported that "Emu oil has...[a] significant anti-inflammatory effect... Emu [oil] treated areas[ such as burns and scars] healed significantly better than [the] control.'

So while it may not necessarily make a difference whether your C-Section wound was closed with staples or stitches, the affects of your scars can be greatly reduced by Emu oil.

The best products to treat C-Section scarring:
Emu Spirit Oil of Emu

Emu Spirit Oil of Emu Capsules

Emu Spirit Skin Food

SOURCE FOR STUDY: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_98767.html

This post originally appeared on our website www.emuspirit.com
www.emuspirit.com

Water Myths

NPR's Allison Aubrey writes about the 'Five Myths About Drinking Water':

Is bottled water better for you than tap? Or should you choose vitamin-enriched water over sparkling? Experts say, skip it all. None of these products are likely to make you any healthier. Below, we look at five major myths about the benefits of drinking water.

But first, how do you know if you're drinking enough water? Experts say there's an easy way to judge. If you're not thirsty, you're fluid intake is likely "just right."

Myth No. 1: Drink Eight Glasses Each Day

Scientists say there's no clear health benefit to chugging or even sipping water all day. So where does the standard advice of drinking eight glasses each day come from? "Nobody really knows," says Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, a kidney expert at the University of Pennsylvania.

Myth No. 2: Drinking Lots of Water Helps Clear Out Toxins

The kidneys filter toxins from our bloodstreams. Then the toxins clear through the urine. The question is, does drinking extra water each day improve the function of the kidneys?

"No," says Goldfarb. "In fact, drinking large amounts of water surprisingly tends to reduce the kidney's ability to function as a filter. It's a subtle decline, but definite."

Myth No. 3: Lots of Water Equals Healthier Skin

The body is already 60 percent water. So, if you take a 200-pound man, he's 120 pounds of water.

Adding a few extra glasses of water each day has limited effect. "It's such a tiny part of what's in the body," says Goldfarb. "It's very unlikely that one's getting any benefit." His full editorial is published in the current issue of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology.

One study published in 2007 on the cosmetic benefit of drinking water suggests that 500 ml of water increases capillary blood flow in the skin. "But it's unclear whether these changes are clinically significant," says Goldfarb.

Myth No. 4: Drinking Extra Water Leads to Weight Loss

A more accurate statement may be: Drinking water is a helpful tool for dieters.

"Water is a great strategy for dieters because it has no calories," says Madeline Fernstrom of the University of Pittsburgh. "So you can keep your mouth busy without food and get the sense of satisfaction."

But water is not magical, she adds. Other zero-calorie options such as diet sodas are fine, too.

Myth No. 5: It's Easy to Get Dehydrated During a Workout

Dehydration sets in when a person has lost 2 percent of his or her body weight. So for a 200-pound man, this means losing 4 pounds of water.

Marathon runners, bikers and hikers all need to recognize the signs of dehydration. "It is also obvious that individuals in hot, dry climates have increased need for water," says Goldfarb.

The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that athletes drink 16 ounces of fluids a couple of hours before starting sports practice.

But for a stroll in the park, no water bottle is necessary. Goldfarb's advice: Just drink when you're thirsty.
www.emuspirit.com

Who's up for eating...dirt? Try Emu Oil Instead!

Here’s a scenario we didn’t see coming: Botox vs. Emu oil in a bid to treat tennis elbow. While many people use Emu oil to treat inflammation such as tennis elbow or RSI, a group of researchers at the Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex at Tehran University (Iran) have experimented with Botulinum toxin (also known as Botox) injections to treat tennis elbow.

Tennis elbow is an inflammation based condition that can be very painful and commonly affects the area around the upper arm near the elbow, and is a result from repetitious movement of the wrists or forearm.

The researchers injected 48 patients with the toxin and found that overtime the patients’ tennis elbow pain reduced. However there was one significant side effect to the injections: partial loss of the ability to move the third and fourth fingers. Researchers pointed out that the Botulinum injections were not a suitable treatment for patients who needed to extend their fingers, adding that they are unsure whether the treatment continues to relieve pain after four months.

We don’t know about you, but we would always like to be able to have movement and strength in my fingers (not just some of the time!)

If you are looking for an effective pain relief treatment for tennis elbow that still allows you to move all of your fingers, try Emu oil. Emu oil is an effective natural anti-inflammatory that deeply penetrates the skin, relieving pain in both muscle and joint. Emu oil also reduces swelling and bruising quickly. Even if you have broken skin, Emu oil is a suitable treatment to treat tennis elbow as it is gentle on wounds and sensitive skin.

If we had a choice between the two treatments we know which one we would choose…obviously the Botulinum (just joking).

For more information: www.emuspirit.com
www.emuspirit.com

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://emuspirit.blogspot.com/2011/04/botox-to-treat-tennis-elbow-try-emu-oil.html' title='Botox to Treat Tennis Elbow? Looking at the hair follicles, Dr. Hollick realized they were much more robust and the skin thickness was remarkably increased, suggesting that Emu oil stimulated skin growth and hair growth. Additionally, the study showed that over 80% of hair follicles that had been "asleep" were woken up and began growing.

Emu oil contains essential fatty acids Omega 3,6,9, which helps keep hair, skin and nails healthy (amongst other things). Emu oil can also be used if you have a dry scalp or psoriasis of the scalp. Massaging Emu oil into your scalp stimulates the skin and hair follicles while the anti-inflammatory properties of Emu oil help reduce redness, inflammation and itchiness. Taken orally, Emu oil will also benefit hair regrowth.

So if you are looking for a natural method to help stimulate hair regrowth, why not try Emu oil?
Find out more from us www.emuspirit.com
or read other posts like this at http://emuspirit.com/_blog/Emu_Spirit_Blog
www.emuspirit.com

Oily Business with Emu Spirit: Go Salmon Fishing...In Your Kitchen

Oily Business with Emu Spirit: Go Salmon Fishing...In Your Kitchen
www.emuspirit.com

Go Salmon Fishing...In Your Kitchen

If you're looking for a tasty, healthy, and heart warming weekend eat, give this great recipe from Angela Hartnett a go (we found it at www.guardian.co.uk) It's Angela Hartnett's Salmon in ginger and lemongrass broth. And she reckons it only takes 15 minutes to make. What are you waiting for?!

The key is not to overcook this. A little bit of chopping, a quick bit of frying – it should be ready within 15 minutes.

Ingredients

(Serves 4)

2 tbsp of sesame oil

1 tsp of garlic, chopped

2 tsp ginger, chopped

2 red onions, chopped

2 lemongrass stalks, cut in half and crushed with the back of a knife

500ml cold water

A shake of Tabasco sauce

2 tsp of soy sauce

5 tsp fish sauce

4 x 100g salmon fillets (skin removed)

2 spring onions, chopped

1 large handful of spring greens

4 chestnut mushrooms, sliced

1 nest of dried noodles

Juice of 1 lime and rind of ½

1 tbsp of chopped coriander

Method Lightly heat the sesame oil in a large pan. Add the garlic, ginger, onions and lemongrass (to crush the lemongrass, use the back of a knife and bash the stalk so it splits). Saute for two minutes without browning. Add 500ml of cold water and bring to the boil. Then add the Tabasco, soy sauce and fish sauce. Gently lower the salmon fillets into the broth and turn down the heat. Simmer for four minutes until the salmon is cooked.

Remove the salmon and leave to one side. Add the vegetables and the noodles, and bring the broth back to the boil. Simmer until the noodles are cooked as per the packet instructions (normally about four minutes).

Finally, add the lime juice and the grated rind. Place the salmon in bowls and pour the broth and noodles over each dish. Finish with freshly chopped coriander.
www.emuspirit.com

The Low Down: The Effect of Emu Oil on Psoriasis Clinical Trial

We have long raved about the effectiveness of Emu oil on Psoriasis, now read the clinical trial report conducted by Victoria University (supported by Emu Spirit)

For those short on time, here is the conclusion of the Report:"the results of this trial suggest that emu oil reduces the severity of psoriasis symptoms of redness, thickness and scaliness; and enables psoriasis sufferers to decrease the amount and frequency of corticosteroid treatment."

For those who want to read the full report:

www.emuspirit.com

Psoriasis Doesn't Stand A Chance With Emu Oil

Looking for a natural alternative to treat your Psoriasis?
Emu oil is an effective and natural treatment for Psoriasis. Psoriasis is one of the top three skin conditions Emu Spirit hears about week in week out from people like you looking for a natural alternative to help relieve the symptoms of Psoriasis.

Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition. As an anti-inflammatory Emu Oil relieves the symptoms of Psoriasis by softening the skin, reducing redness, itchiness, flakiness and overall inflammation. Emu oil helps hydrate your skin by deeply passing through each layer of the epidermis, which allows Emu oil to completely treat your Psoriasis, rather than simply being a ‘top layer skin’ treatment.Further, Emu oil promotes smoother skin by reducing the amount of Psoriatic plaque that can build up on your skin.

THREE WAYS to TREAT PSORIASIS using Emu oil.

Topical application: provides relief from Psoriasis symptoms such as itching, redness, skin flakiness, and will hydrate and soften the skin. That they're important? That our bodies can't readily produce them? Did you know that Emu oil contains naturally occurring Omega 3, 6, and 9? Omega's are more important than you might think...

Let us introduce you to Omega 6:

We know that Emu oil contains Omega 6 fatty acids, but how important is Omega 6 to our bodies?

Considered an essential fatty acid (EFA), Omega 6 is necessary for healthy bodily function. Because humans can’t make Omega 6 in our bodies, it is vital that we eat Omega 6 rich foods and oils.

Along with Omega 3, Omega 6 plays an important role in brain function, encourages skin and hair growth, and maintains bone health and the reproduction system while regulating your metabolism.

Although we all know that we should probably stick to a balanced diet rich in essential fatty acids to keep ourselves happy and healthy, we don’t always do this. Supplementing our diets with Omega 6 oils, such as Oil of Emu, is a good way to make sure we are on the right track.

Emu oil is a unique anti-inflammatory which can be used to treat the symptoms of many inflammation based conditions including arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, eczema, and muscle aches and pains. However Emu oil can also play an important role in your general health and well being, especially if you’re not receiving enough essential fatty acids such as Omega 6.

Contrary to what you may have heard, not all Omega 6 fatty acids promote inflammation. Gramma-linolenic acid (GLA) occur when linoleic acids are converted in the body. It is then further broken down into arachidonic acid (AA). It’s these types of Omega 6 fatty acids which help to fight inflammation and are found in Emu Spirit’s Oil of Emu.

Studies have shown that Omega 6 fatty acids may be useful for the following conditions:

Diabetic neuropathy

Rheumatoid arthritis

Breast cancer. According to the University of Maryland “One study found that women with breast cancer who took GLA had a better response to tamoxifen (a drug used to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancer) than those who took only tamoxifen.”

Eczema

Osteoporosis: “Some studies suggest that people who don' t get enough of some essential fatty acids (particularly EPA and GLA) are more likely to have bone loss than those with normal levels of these fatty acids. In a study of women over 65 with osteoporosis, those who took EPA and GLA supplements had less bone loss over 3 years than those who took placebo. Many of these women also experienced an increase in bone density.”

There are many forms of Omega 6 that you can take – many people choose Evening Primrose oil, or Flaxseed oil for example—yet Emu oil has been shown to provide higher anti-inflammatory properties than these oils. There are many reasons to introduce Omega 6 into your diet. We encourage you to explore the vast information regarding the benefits of increasing your essential fatty acids and create your new, healthier life today.

Looking for more information? visit us www.emuspirit.com
www.emuspirit.com

The Best Wheel of Fortune Contestant Ever

This brought a smile to our face. Emu oil is a natural anti-inflammatory that can be used to treat Eczema and many other inflammatory conditions. Although there are many types of Eczema, Emu oil is an effective treatment for all of them. Best of all, Emu Spirit’s Oil of Emu (Emu oil) is safe, non-toxic and is free of hormones, free of steroids, free of antibiotics and is GMO free. READ MORE about our Emu oil

Question : How does Emu oil help treat Eczema?

Answer: As an anti-inflammatory Emu Oil relieves the symptoms of Eczema by softening the skin, reducing redness and itchiness and overall inflammation. Further, Emu oil helps hydrate your skin by deeply passing through each layer of the epidermis, which allows the Emu oil to completely treat your eczema, rather than simply being a ‘top layer skin’ treatment.

Question: How should I use Emu oil to treat my Eczema?

Answer: Emu oil can be used both as a topical treatment and an internal (oral) treatment, and is even more effective if you combine both methods. Although Eczema may differ from person to person, the key to any successful treatment is consistency.

Emu oil topical application: Apply directly to your Eczema and surrounding areas morning and night. If your Eczema becomes irritated throughout the day, simply apply more Emu oil to the area and allow it to hydrate and relieve your skin.

Emu oil also makes a great ‘in-bath treatment’, especially for children. Add a few drops of oil into the bath or apply to damp skin after bathing and pat dry.

Emu oil internal (oral application): We recommend taking at least 1-2 teaspoons a day, depending on the severity of you Eczema. At Emu Spirit there are two Emu oil products that you can use as an internal application. They are:

Oil of Emu Omega 3,6,9 capsules or Oil of Emu (100% Pure Emu Oil). Both products are just as effective as each other. NB: 6 capsules = 1 teaspoon of Oil of Emu

Question: Can I use Emu oil on my baby’s Eczema?

Answer: Yes. Emu Spirit Oil of Emu has been tested for its safety and stability and is gentle on sensitive skin such as babies’ skin.

Eczema and Emu oil summary:

* Emu oil is an effective treatment for Eczema

* Use Emu oil both topically and internally (orally)

* Emu oil hydrates your skin and relieves Eczema symptoms

* Emu oil can be used on sensitive skin such as baby skin

* Emu Spirit Oil of Emu is safe and non-toxic

For more information contact us

Yep, that's what our Emu Oil looks like. It's informative, graphic, and slightly irritating (much like Eczema i guess!), and in it's own way, quirky. It's LittleDeathKisses's 'Eczema Song'. She mentions that she uses cortisone cream (which is somewhat effective in controlling Eczema, the side effects of cortisone are well known), but we will send her some Emu Spirit Oil of Emu (100% pure Emu oil) so she can sing about her new, clear, Eczema free skin.
Play the clip and Sing-Along!

www.emuspirit.com
