Emu Spirit Emu oil, which we market as Oil of Emu, is the result of 15 years of research into all aspects of Emu Oil production. In 2002, we were the first to successfully list Emu Oil on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as an active ingredient for the treatment of a range of inflammatory conditions. As part of the process to have Emu Oil added to the ATG as an active ingredient, Emu Spirit had to commission full Oral Toxic Testing (Pharmatox T2334) on Emu Oil. This was the first time that such testing had been carried out and Emu Oil anywhere in the world.
Emu Spirit is committed to continued research and development and recently supported the Victoria University with a double blind, placebo controlled clinical trial for ‘Osteoarthritis of the hands’.
At the end of an eight week study, pain scores were statistically and significantly lower in the Emu Spirit oil users, compared with the placebo oil users. The abstract of the clinical trial results were published in the ‘Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases’ (Vol 64, pg 484, SAT0238).
